Summer is a time to see the lush green paddy fields and green trees. Many people come here to view the stars in the night sky.
Autumn is spectacular with the leaves of the trees changing to red and yellow. You can also see a "Gassho-zukuri" house from the inside and get a feel of how people lived in Japan in olden days.
Kenrokuen "The famous garden of the Kaga domain, prized for its beautiful water features"
Kenrokuen Park spreads out to the south of Kanazawa Castle. It was built as a garden for the Maeda family, a family that once prided itself of having domain over the production of five million bushels of rice. The grounds of this garden cover nearly 10 hectares, and as one of the Three Great Gardens of Japan, it has been designated as a Special Place of Scenic Beauty. A water channel was built during the Edo period to ensure there was a supply of water in case of a fire in the castle, and today it still transports water to Kasumigaike Pond at the center of the garden.
"Doors to explore 'NIPPON'", a special program that showcases scenes hand-picked from NHK's "SHIN NIHON FUDOKI", a show that conveys the beautiful scenery and profound culture of Japan, is screened on five TV monitors installed in the departure area of Haneda Airport.
Do enjoy the video before you leave Haneda Airport.
